Connected North honoured with 2025 CASCADE Award from Canadian Association of Science Centres

TakingITGlobal is honoured to share that our Connected North program has been chosen by the Canadian Association of Science Centres for the 2025 CASCADE Award — Institutional ‘Best Project $1 Million+’. The award was presented on June 12, 2025, in St. John’s, NL, during CASC’s annual conference. This national recognition celebrates projects that open doors to science learning for people across Canada, and we are proud to see the innovation and community spirit behind Connected North acknowledged on this stage.

During the 2024–25 school year, Connected North delivered more than 7,750 live, interactive sessions — an all-time high that translates into over 368,000 minutes of learning. These experiences reached 37,000 students in 200 partner schools spanning 130 First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities, guided by 1,366 engaged teachers. Our growing network of 447 content providers — over 200 of whom are Indigenous — shared culture, STEM know-how, and creativity in ways that resonate deeply with learners.

This milestone energises us to keep expanding access, welcoming new Indigenous role models, and co-creating science education that reflects and uplifts every classroom we serve.
