FIFA 2014 - Diversity and Culture

The World Cup to is an exciting time where people all over the world connect. The banners of colours, different cultures coming face-to-face, and the players representing their country is wonderful sight to behold. We are all so different and so varied but it is nice to have such an event like the World Cup that unites us. Even though football was developed and codified in England back in 1863 I think it is fair to say that England do not have much dominance in the game anymore, with their first and last victory being 1966. Not being able to claw a single win since then has distressed fans across the country. Despite the repeated defeat at each World Cup since 1966, the England fans come out in their tens of thousands, perhaps even millions to support the England team; one thing for sure this that England have very dedicated and loyal fans. Unfortunately the hearts of those fans were broken at an early stage at this World Cup 2014 as England failed to reach the groups stage, losing their first two matches for the first time in history. However, no fear, with England being as diverse as it is, I am sure that there is at least one other team the fans can support.
I, myself am getting very caught up with the World Cup, so much so that I am not getting things done, it is addictive, I've got that World Cup Fever. I am looking forward to the final because I know after that my life will go back to normal. Germany, Holland and Colombia are my top 3! But whoever plays the best football deserves to win.
 

We have so many greatly skilled and talented footballers who can do so many amazing tricks with the ball, and I really hope that this inspires the next generation, where they can use football as a method for development. Supporting Sport, Inspiring Sport =)
