Hi, am Mukungu Allan I was one of young boys who were seeing life as not possibly successful due growing in a humble Family. AYV was introduced to us by PMM girls school AYV site Jinja, which had come to exhibit and inspire youth at our Youth Club (Shadow Idol Youth Club), I wasn't interested because I thought I wouldn't be a right person for that due to my negative attitude, my mentor at the club selected me to go and attend the capacity build up workshop at PMM girls school Jinja to introduce our club to AYV. This is where I found Inspiration, when the Guest speaker Kemugisha Jackie narrated her life, "she was raped and she got HIV her family rejected her because she was Hiv positive but still she fought so hard and life happened and got people to care about her, right she an advocate for people living with Hiv!"
This was the turning point of my life, I wrote a song "The Power is In Your Hands" to cover up her story and inspire other young people, this also acted as an inspiration to me and since then I have developed a positive attitude as a young person, I was given responsibility of being peer educator at the club, I have been a peer facilitator in AYV workshop at the club and PMM girls school, I have got education sponsorship from people who realized that am a good person for the community, am now the president of the executive committee of the club. this what media made me, without it I couldn't have known who I am! and am looking forward to become an innovator to help young writers in my community have a platform to share their stories and also to become an IT technician (telecommunications Engineer).
