AYV Exhibition: Project SERES-Chimaltenango, Guatemala

It is always exciting to try something new! That is exactly how the community of Chuacacay in Chimaltenango, Guatemala felt when the Project SERES AYV program hosted their very first film projection event. To make it even better, the entire event was organized entirely by the youth!

This event took place on March 6th, 2015 and was attended by the local authorities, teachers, parents, and community members. Approximately 30-20 members of the community attended the event. AYV Educator, Roger Feely, travelled to the small community to act as projectionist and to introduce the program to the entire community. The youth coordinated the venue, the refreshments, the advertising, and the screening of the films.

The 3 short films that were created in the AYV program at Project SERES were all exhibited. The themes of the films were corn, Adobe pots, and Chuacacay traditions. The audience was captivated from the beginning until the end! The whole event was a big success!
