I need your support to be selected for the projectACTION Borneo as one of ten activists to go to Borneo and be part of a global action project.
The goal of this project is to create awareness about the destruction caused by deforestation, restore a full forest eco-system and provide a sustainable livelihood for the local community. The project will also create the world's largest and most technology rich orangutan sanctuary on earth. There will be constant communication with schools and people from all around the world.
Vigo Productions is developing a 3D feature documentary as well as a TV series about the project in collaboration with National Geographic Entertainment and they will be filming the 10 selected activists during 5 months from June 2011.
The more exposure I get (hits on youtube, facebook),the better are my chance to be chosen. I really want to be part of this project. This is really important for me but also for the future of orangutans and the rainforests of our planet.
Make sure you visit http://www.deforestation.com
Thanks so much for your support.

Hey Fabrice. I know you're a fan of Mongabay, so you may have already seen this, but have you worked with INDICAR at all?
http://news.mongabay.com/2010/1011-indicar_brazil.html
Hi Steve, I'm aware of Indicar system. Not from Mongabay but because I'm working extensively with SAR data. ALOS PALSAR has been used for quite a while to monitor deforestation but not in an operational mode.
Indicar is the evolution of the DETER program which uses optical satellites like MODIS Terra and CB-ERS2B. The best resolution is 250m and dependant to cloud cover.
Indicar will use this old data fused with SAR images (SCANSAR data at 100m resolution) from ALOS PALSAR.
Thanks for the link, Cheers.
Orange was a good choice. Good luck Fabrice!
Go Fabrice!!I can't wait to see you on TV :)
