Fabrice Marre, Action Agent - DeforestAction Borneo Project

DeforestAction Project Borneo.

I need your support to be selected for the projectACTION Borneo as one of ten activists to go to Borneo and be part of a global action project.

The goal of this project is to create awareness about the destruction caused by deforestation, restore a full forest eco-system and provide a sustainable livelihood for the local community. The project will also create the world's largest and most technology rich orangutan sanctuary on earth. There will be constant communication with schools and people from all around the world.

Vigo Productions is developing a 3D feature documentary as well as a TV series about the project in collaboration with National Geographic Entertainment and they will be filming the 10 selected activists during 5 months from June 2011.

The more exposure I get (hits on youtube, facebook),the better are my chance to be chosen. I really want to be part of this project. This is really important for me but also for the future of orangutans and the rainforests of our planet.

Make sure you visit http://www.deforestation.com

Thanks so much for your support.

Recruiters - hire this guy! Haha. Thanks for the info re: INDICAR, Fabrice. I'm familiar with it, but am looking to get much more fluent with it for the obvious reasons. My GIS work right now focuses mostly on modeling of natural and man-made disasters for emergency management purposes. In the nature of spreading info to others Fabrice, if you find any GIS resources (articles, websites, etc) that may be useful for tech-geared folks in TIG community, can you drop it in this thread? http://discuss.tigweb.org/thread/444739 Thanks, and best of luck to you!

Tom, yes I know my orangutan's video is a bit freaky, and I had mixed reviews but the goal is to grab people's attention, the message is there. Thanks for your comment.

Hey Fabrice, you've done such a great job. I read on your profile that you live in Adelaide, I recently went there for a holiday and found it to be one of the most eco-friendly (if not the most) cities I've been to. Loved it! Good luck with everything.

Jen Hinds

Hi Fabrice,
You've wrote me a message on YouTube. Sorry that I didn't notice it earlier. Good luck ! and maybe we meet at the longhouse !

Fabrice Marre

Thanks Melanie. Yes, Adelaide is very eco-friendly and more and more people switch to green energy. Lots of solar systems and rainwater rank here. Good luck to you and well done for your article.

Thorsten

Hey Fabrice, this is Thorsten. Good luck with the project! You have my vote!
