Intensely involved with Landscape my painting centres on the search for a painterly language through which to express the essence of place. It is the infinite possibilities of a landscape, which provide a catalyst for artistic enquiry. The variety of light, colour, atmosphere and location are a constant inspiration. A balance is sought between the intellectual order of studio practice, memory and direct observation.
