Iranildo de Sousa Ferreira

Iranildo de Sousa Ferreira is academic in International Relations and since 7 years old has been working in the social environmental issues, their mission is to be the future UN Secretary General, to serve people building bridges to give voice to the poor and vulnerable.
Iranildo is the son of a farmer, Raimundo Nonato Ferreira de Paulo, and Housewife, Rita Maria de Sousa Ferreira, born on October 6, 1994 in the city of Ibiapina/ Brazil.
Dedicated student, Iranildo was identified as a leader in the classroom, never missed the opportunities that arose in their student life. Contributes and participates in events focusing on social environmental area.
Passionate about environmental, created in January 2007, the Preserving for the Future Project, which in 2008 gained the status of the programme, the Prefuturo Programme, with the mission to promote the adoption of principles and strategies for knowledge, protection and restoration of the environment, sustainable use of natural resources, environmental education work in municipalities, deploy and implement Local Agenda 21.
Through the Prefuturo Programme, Iranildo continued articulating local, regional, national and international partnerships performing a joint effort between the government and society in the pursuit of raising awareness about the issues, alternatives and solutions to social and environmental issues.
Iranildo actively participates in Environmental and Educational Councils, visits schools spreading the idea of Think + Act (Think Globally and Act Globally and Locally).
Iranildo is Climate Ambassador of Brazil through the British Council Climate Generation Programme. The selection process to join the Climate Generation Programme in Latin America and the Caribbean, where Iranildo was selected, occurred between June and July 2010 and identified 108 leaders and activists on climate change on the continent. A total of 2.600 were enrolled between doctors, scientists, teachers, college students, members of Government and Society, among others. Iranildo competed and was ranked in 2nd place in Latin America and the Caribbean, earning the title of Climate Ambassador of Brazil, part of the British Council Climate Champions Network.
Iranildo is currently the Brazilian Environmentalist Youth Representant to the United Nations; represents Brazil in the Global Ideas blog of Deutsche Welle German TV , was the Focal Point of Brazilian Youth in Constituency Youth United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and co-coordinator of the Working Program of the 7th Conference of Youth of the 17th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, was the Young Ambassador of Brazil to the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development - Rio +20, part of the Official Delegation of Brazil to the Conference; serves as parliamentarian of Brazil, and Parliamentary Chief of the Southern Cone in the World Youth Parliament for Water - WYPW, headquartered in France.
Currently Iranildo works focusing on Human Rights, International Security, Development, Governance and Environmental Protection.
