About Me
Cynthia

My name is Cynthia. I’ve been living in Toronto ever since I was born. Which means I’ve been living in the city for thirteen years already. My Christian family consists of my mom, dad, grandma, and my older sister. We basically have been living in the same old house since my family immigrated to Canada in 1989.

When I’m around people I don’t know well, I tend to act very differently from who I really am. I’m definitely not the type of person who can be outgoing and talkative with everyone. I need to be pretty close with someone in order for me to be comfortable with being myself. This is more of a disadvantage than advantage because people would misjudge you and would think they know you when they really don’t. I personally wish I could be myself all the time, but that would probably take years of “development”. Overall though, I’m a talkative, determined, impatient, and sensitive person, with a good sense of humour.

During my spare time, I usually read, listen to music, eat, or sleep. I love reading fiction novels! Most people I know find reading boring, but I think it introduces me to another world where I could escape into the life the character. For that moment, I experience things I’ve never been through before. I especially enjoy reading mysteries, fantasies, and romance. I also adore music because you could express so much emotions in just one song. It is also very soothing at times when I’m troubled. Like music, eating and sleeping relaxes me as well. One of my favourite snacks of all time is chocolate. I simply crave for almost any type of chocolate practically every day! Whenever I’m free, one of the things I won’t do is play sport. I don’t hate it, but it won’t be something I’ll look forward to doing normally. I mainly find it too competitive for me.

In school, I do quite well. I study hard for most of my tests, and is expected by my parents to always work to the best of my abilities. That is all they ask for. They had taught me to believe that the process of learning is more important than the outcome. When I’m in school, I don’t have a particular subject that I look forward to. I do find that Science is the most interesting subject, but it becomes too confusing and complicated at times. I find it amazing whenever I discover how and why everything around me works.

One thing that I would want to own in the future, would be a Golden Retriever. I love dogs. They and horses are my favourite types of animals. I find them to be obedient, loyal, and friendly creatures. In my opinion, I think that dogs are one of the closest friends one could ever meet in his/her life.
