Iron Tipple in Victor Colorado

This is a panoramic view of a tipple in Victor Colorado near Cripple Creek. It is part of an old Gold mine in an area once known as the richest square mile on earth. The operations were abandoned in the early 1900's and left standing were enrmous structures like this left to rust on the landscape.

This panorama is composition of 35mm photographs they are digitally "rough stitched' ( meaning: several 35mm format photos taken in succession along a landscape and arranged digitally on computer, arranged by the artist giving it the "appearance" of several photos placed next to each-other to reveal a full panorama. This delicate style of arranging photographs is suggestive of the fragile nature of the old gold Mine, which is weathered and falling apart. The Image will last forever, the mine will fall apart and all that will be left are photographs and memories.
