“The Way it Is” is a short documentary-style film featuring the youth of Stonegate, an underserved area in Etobicoke, Canada. The film features interviews conducted by youth to give voice to what Stonegate means to them as individuals and as a group. In addition, they also interviewed area residents to get their perspectives of the youth in the community. The Stonegate Community Health Centre (SCHC), which runs youth programs, was the target audience. They had trouble engaging the 14-18 year olds. The presentation provided a forum for the youth to voice their ideas of programs that would interest them.
