View artist portfolioI saw a man eating popcorn. A few fell from the bag and blew off onto the tracks. Some hung around for the ants. He spoke about his latest layoff and how the economy is failing many. Maybe smoking and munching on popcorn was a way to just forget about things.

Very interesting painting! I like this excessive expressionistic style combined with Zehn philosophy of life. Again, colors are telling (and yelling) the third (maybe the main) version of the same story /scene. Observing this art I wonder what is here thought to be inside and what is presented as superficial and again it all so quickly turn to be one. Not only due to "the angle" or to the saying that the truth is in the eye of beholder, but because of some very simple yet more profound unique wholeness which recognises and worships all details with equal strength. Even the ants... What else are we, humans, in the crosroads of the Universe and our (so short and emotionally intense) lives? We're even lost in our own history, yet so uniquely drafted as individuals in each of the tiniest moments and the most common actions of our lives.
P.S. This kind of art can cure. I mean it.
Wow. This is a very powerful painting. The description definately pulls it all together. I know first-hand many people today are going through the theme expressed in 'Popcorn.' It shows us that we're not alone in the feeling of hopelessness when our lives seem to have no direction or value.
I saw this one before when I was visiting your gallery. I never forgot it! I love the way it pulls me in and suddenly I see through his eyes.
