View artist portfolioWhilst exploring far-north Queensland I spent some time volunteering for a wildlife carer on the Atherton Tablelands. This was an incredibly rewarding experiencing, showing how us humans can play a nurturing/stewardship role within the biosphere.

What is Dorathy's story?
Hi Tara... Dorathy's mother was hit by a car in the Atherton Tablelands of far-north Queensland. Dorathy was a young hairless joey that would not have survived alone in the wild.
A Tree Kangaroo carer specialist took her in and helped raise her until she was old enough to be released back into the rainforest.
By the time i arrived she was 18 months old and spending the days in the rainforest with a radio collar, one of my jobs was to trek into the forest and find her before sunset with a radio tracking device.. she had a lot of personality and the most beautiful, soft fur..
