Ground Zero

Ground Zero

I went to New York a few months after 9/11 and watched them dig through the mound of rubble. This is from a return trip this year (2004). The area is now back to life again but this one chunk of metal from the original building shows my feelings. Death and the suddenness of it is contrasted with the life in the building behind it. Death and life work together. As a Christian I see death as a graduation from earth to heaven and thus see life in this photo through the cross.
