Self Portrait One

We were asked to bring in a mirror and paint our portrait using only black. It had been about 2 years since I had picked up a paint brush, and having missed the last class (where they discussed technique) due to an unexpected death of a highschool friend, I suddenly was faced with painting two self portraits in 4 hours. Having only experimented in the past with acrylic paints through "finger painting", this first assignment was a challenge!
