View artist portfolioThis piece is a reflection of my history... In this painting I meld contemporary African-American urban culture, with traditional african history/cultures. My work is linked to the multi-cultural tradition of storytelling. I feel that sharing stories is an essential part of our human experience. So in all of my work, I create narratives that focus on the essence of everyday people.
I feel that a story is never owned by just one person...but rather experienced by many. Although My work is fueled by my African-American ancestry, it speaks to a multi-ethnic audience. One that includes people who connect with, and celebrate in the work.
Rather than telling the stories verbally I am sharing them visually...on canvas. I want these stories to be available to my generation as well as generations to come.
The Original piece is acrylic on canvas, 36x60 inches

like your way of thinking , 'cause one picture is worth 10.000 words..... besides I personally think that one cannot describe everything with words

Your entire art collection is a merger of traditionalism, culture, modernity, and nature...
Creates a consensus between the four...
