Cherishing the African Beauty

Cherishing the African Beauty

I have grown up in a community whose deep and proud roots are lain deep in tradition and the display of this rich culture is what makes one to belong. This piece of art shows a Maasai lady after her initiation to adulthood which is done by tearing the ears to the length shown and wearing a lot of ornaments on the neck and the head.

The initiation brings about the sense of belonging and it is an indicator of passing from childhood to adulthood. And this beautiful young lady is glad to belong to the Maasai Moran community.

Life could quite boring seeing the same dressing styles and lifestyles. But running a cross a beautiful face proudly displaying one's rich culture makes life quite an adventure.
