Obviously Kerala is the most beautiful of all Indian states. It is one of the fastest-growing tourism economies in the world. Some tourist attractions are the great beaches (Kovalam, Cherai and Varkala), serene hill stations (Ponmudi and Munnar), wildlife sanctuaries (Periyar and Eravikulam), beautiful Kerala Backwaters (Alleppey, Kumarakom, and Punnamada), and the marvel of Kerala building art revealed through Padmanabhapuram Palace, Padmanabhapuram. The tourism department of the state calls the state as God's Own Country. National Geographic Society described Kerala as one of the 50 must-see destinations of a lifetime.

Excellent painting. It captures the essence of Kerala. I spent 3 weeks there when I was in India in the summer of 2005

Yes indeed Kerala is God's own country.. Every time I go there, the beauty of nature, the cleanliness of the air, water and nature, the simplicity of the villages and the relaxation of countryside, take away all my tiredness and worries of modern life. The best part of all is that I have a lovely house there with a loving mother who awaits my arrival with love in abundance. Our home there is located amidst paddy fields, with mountains of Nelliyampadi in the backdrop. I could sit for hours gazing at the myraid of colourful birds i the fields or the kingfishers at prey, the swaying of gaceful coconut palms, the sunny banks of the gurgling streams with their cold sweet water, the smoky smells of firewood.... and wish for time to standstill so that i can capture these moments of happiness and frame them in my mind, and preserve them there when i take leave and go back to my hectic life in the metro
