Jacob's Girl

This piece is created in natural sheep's fleece. I was inspired by the natural colours of the wool to make a two colour portrait. Working in wool fibre with the technique I have developed is very difficult, it constantly moves as the fibres cling to each other. The final picture is compressed with glass to bring out the effect. My pictures have a slight 3D quality due to the texture and method of building the picture with the fine fibres.

Size framed: 50cm by 50cm (20in by 20in approx)
