This piece means a lot to me, for I created it my grade 12 year as a final project. If you have not seen the movie Gia, then understanding the painting is difficult. Angelina Jolie plays Gia Marie Carangi. She was ultimately faced with the pressure of society, as a Heroin addict, bisexual, supermodel who eventually died of AIDS. She was one of the first females in the US to be diagnosed with the disease.
