Flores para Geni

Image unavailable

Flores para Geni" is an experiment in documentary and poetic short film. Amber Luz and I immersed ourselves in the audiovisual and tried to create a realistic and intimate atmosphere for the scenes that were recorded in just one day at her home in Jardim Gramacho (RJ, Brazil) and in the streets of the neighborhood with the camera of an iPhone5 and edited by mobile. In addition to portraying our trans experiences through dialogues, speeches by the Bahian transwoman Mika de Jesus, images and poetry, using our personal collection and clothes from the atelier "Abalace" by Amber and "ARTETRAVA" by Joana Jade, peripheral fashion made by transwoman hands was also one of the main elements for the realization of this work. With poetry inspired by the song "Geni e o Zepelim" that was part of the musical "Ópera do Malandro" by Chico Buarque, our art tries to dialogue with Geni of the present times in order to humanize her.
