empowerment

This photograph for me is a symbol of empowerment.
The growing gender disparities lead to ‘gendered’ development processes and outcomes, which in turn contribute to perpetuation of poverty and discrimination and impede the achievement of goals of sustainable human development. Without an emphasis on empowerment of women to fight the structural roots of their subordination, development cannot be just and equitable. 7 million women and girl child in our country with strong gender inequities as well as social barriers is both inspiring and frightening at the same time.
this photograph represents the voice of women "Lets Create an enabling environment for empowerment where the community itself prioritises and provides space for women’s leadership and active participation in all socio-economic and political processes".
